PERTH to ALBANY

This particular drive along Albany Highway is approximately 410 Kms, which will take around 4 hours. The first stop on the way could be Kojonup which will take about 2½ - 3 hours driving time. Visit the local Tourist Information Centre for sightseeing suggestions. Spend a few hours looking around before making your way to Albany which is only about a 1 hour drive.

STAY OVERNIGHT IN ALBANY - Or longer depending on your time schedule

There are many things to see in Albany, a number of which can be completed as small day trips. Recommended visits include "The Torndirrup National Park", "The Gap" & "The Natural Bridge", "The Blow Holes" or you can even experience "Whale Watching"(seasonal).

DEPART ALBANY

Leaving Albany we recommend that you stop at Denmark which is known for its amazing coastline. "Green Pools" is one beach not to be missed, especially if you enjoy swimming. You may also want to visit "Conspicuous Cliff" where you can watch the locals surf.

Walpole is the next destination we recommend you should visit. "The Valley of the Giants" and the famous "Tree Top Walk" are 2 attractions which take in the magnificent tress in the area.

From Walpole drive to Pemberton - this is the heart of the "Karri Country". The drive to Pemberton is extremely pretty as you travel along the tree lined roads. If time permits we recommend you stay overnight in this area in "Farm Stay" or Chalet accommodation.

NEXT DAY

The Margaret River area is known for its peace & quiet, the vast number of award winning wineries, fruit (when in season) and of course its world famous waves for surfing. There are a number of different accommodation types including hotels, cottages, farmstay or B & B venues.

You may decide to drive directly back to Perth from Margaret River, which will take around 3½ hours. Alternatively you could stay overnight in Busselton, Dunsborough or Bunbury before continuing back to Perth the following day.

If stopping in Bunbury you should visit the "Dolphin Discovery Centre" where the wild dolphins visit regularly at Koombana Bay. Alternatively you can take a dolphin cruise when in season.

(This itinerary can be modified to the number of days you have. You may choose to only drive from Perth to Margaret River or only as far as Bunbury.)
